My sister sent me a nervous email (from New Jersey). Our father has mail-ordered a pair of new shoes. He loves them. My sister is concerned about him wearing them on his next trip to Los Angeles. What do you think?
PS - Yes, those are her hands holding the shoes, while he is asleep in another room!
Whenever I hear the new Black Eyed Peas song, I imagine my dad singing along to it, in earnest. Tonite I imagined watching them on American Idol with him.
Artist and FOW Anne Veraldi has an opening on Saturday, April 26th (6 - 8PM) at the DNJ Gallery located at 154-1/2 North La Brea. Her photos are so amazing I have some in my home AND in my office. Come check them out!
In an AP article about cheap reality programming, Paris Hilton, whose reality show reportedly costs a fortune to produce says, ”It’s a great platform for me, because I can show a lot of my products.” She adds, “All the kids have my perfume. They’re all wearing the clothing line, they’re all wearing my shoe line, they’re all wearing my purse line, my belts, my accessories, Paris Hilton sunglasses. It’s kind of like having a free commercial.” Really? People are wearing your shoes? and purses? and belts? Like who?
Richard Quest, the CNN financial report busted in 2008 leaving Central Park with rope wrapped around his neck and private parts, and crystral meth in his pocket, was introduced today on CNN as an “active tweaker”. CNN’s Your $$$$$ co-host Ali Velshi was breathlessly describing Richard’s twittering, but kept mistaking Twitter for Tweaker, and each time Richard Twinged. I went to the CNN website to review the transcripts but all the tweaks had been twittered! Very Tweaky CNN!
We didn't win a Bloggie, but who cares. It's not about winning, just getting nominated is enough. Whoops, we didn't get a nomination either! Still, it's worth checking out this year's winners and nominations, lots of our favorite blogs are there! Congrats!
There's been a lot of chatter about Dean McDermott's toenail polish, which was featured on last night's episode of RuPaul's Drag Race. I wondered if this might be some straight guy trend (cause I'm thinking it's not a gay guy trend). This is what I found, and this, and this. But I also found this, so watch out guys!
"I say don't fuck with fashion". That's
Nikki Finke's response to the Academy
Awards producers' threat to pull presenters off
the red carpet. Meanwhile, over
at salon.com, Camille Paglia says
of Kate Winslet's Golden Globes gown,
"The elegant, architectural, black satin
strapless gown.....ultimately descends from
the voluptuous black sheath that Jean-Louis
designed for Rita Hayworth's...striptease in
'Gilda'". Nikki Finke and Camille Paglia, who both bring me great pleasure regularly, seem unlikely fashion authorities AND an unlikely duo; but they did get me thinking. Wouldn't it be HOT to see them working the red carpet? Now that's TV I would watch!
