The Real Slim Shady for Real

Debbie Nelson, Eminem's mother, is so over being verbally and physically attacked by her son's fans that she's written a book to set the record straight about Marshall Mathers' fictional early years. In My Son Marshall, My Son Eminem, Nelson writes: "After his first album, Infinite, flopped, he reinvented himself as white trailer trash with a crazy welfare mom. I was shocked when I first heard the lyrics... but he constantly reassured me it was all a big joke... I went along with it for Marshall's sake." She also says that Mathers was a jealous mama's boy who wouldn't let her sleep with her new husband on their wedding night; that he beat her up on his 23rd birthday; and that he was so strung out in 1999 that he doesn't remember marrying his girlfriend Kim.
