Not a Day Over 87Thursday, August 25, 2011 02:07 PM
It's the first publicity photo of the throaty big-band singer and perpetual-virgin movie star in 30 years (and the first ever of her dog Fluffy, we suspect). And if you ask us, Doris Day, 87, looks better now than she did in her 1950s-60s heyday – when she allegedly (as the story goes) had the movie cameras photograph her through corduroy. On September 5, My Heart, her first album in 17 years, will drop, featuring nine previously unreleased recordings and three classics (please, God, not "Que Sera, Sera"). According to our bud Janet Charlton, the album is "a personal collection of songs that reflect her love for her late son [music producer] Terry Melcher and her animals." Wow, that sounds perfectly dreadful. So, Motion Picture Academy, now that she's come out of hiding, can she get her Lifetime Achievement Oscar already?
