Fowley's Feeling CowellyTuesday, February 09, 2010 11:20 AM
Although it's pretty much decided that the most important seat at the American Idol judges' table, the one being vacated by Simon Cowell, will likely be filled next season by either Guy Oseary, Tommy Mottola, or even Howard Stern, there's always the possibility of an out-of-left-field surprise. And that's what Kim Fowley is counting on. Ahh, Kim Fowley. He's the bizarre 70-year-old mad genius record producer, impresario, songwriter, musician, and talent scout who among MANY other wonderful things wrote the Hollywood Argyles' hit "Alley Oop" and co-founded the all-girl band The Runaways (now a major motion picture). Currently, he has his eye on Cowell's controversial chair. We love Fowley, and not just because he showed up at almost every one of WOW's Storefront Gallery art openings – dressed each time like a superfabulous maniac words cannot describe – and we think he deserves to be heard, no matter how futile it seems. He sent us his American Idol judge audition reel and we're more than happy to post it here.
