Photo-embroidery: The New SurrealismThursday, November 05, 2009 01:23 PM
The London-based Italian artist Maurizio Anzer transforms discarded family photographs into three-dimensional objects of swirly surrealism. Sez he: "The intimate human action of embroidery is a ritual of making and reshaping stories and the history of these people." Well, he has to say something when people ask. This is our first time seeing his work and now we're a big fan. And, by the way, that's not thread, it's synthetic hair, like what that wig you have on is made of. (via Dangerous Minds)
