Jessica Simpson, who was all for promoting the CW's Melrose Place when her sister Ashlee was learning lines and saying them on the revamped primetime soap. But now that Sis has been let go rather unceremoniously, Jessica is now tweeting that the writing on the show is crap but Ashlee was amazing and got the show press. "[A]shlee was too good for that show and was the ONLY reason I watched, and won't anymore!" Twittered Jess. An insider on the set told Us Weekly that Ashlee's hire was indeed to get press, but they hadn't counted on her inability to act. "They hired her because they needed a good name to help create buzz," said the source."But she was embarrassingly bad. Producers cut her down as much as possible."
