And Speaking of 'Glee'...Monday, October 19, 2009 02:30 PM
The good news is twofold for the high-school musicale that has not quite lived up to its hype. EW's Michael Ausiello reports that coming on board to direct at least one installment is big fan of the show, Dollhouse creator Joss Whedon, who was also responsible for Dr Horrible's Sing-Along Blog and perhaps the singlemost wonderful musical episode in episodic television history – the "Once More, With Feeling" episode of his Buffy the Vampire Slayer. And by "singlemost," we mean SINGlemost. So everyone is psyched about that. Also, being added to the cast is Jonathan Groff, star of Spring Awakening and Ang Lee's Taking Woodstock, in a six-episode arc as the lead male singer in Vocal Adrenaline and romantic interest for Rachel. "He is a male diva," says Glee's cocreator Ryan Murphy. "A miva." Cute, Ryan, but we're pretty sure a male diva is a divo.
