The House of ClaustrophobiaThursday, August 27, 2009 05:48 PM
There's a house at 75.5 Bedford Street in Manhattan's West Village that you might walk by without noticing. It's inarguably the city's narrowest residence: a mere 98 inches wide, which is about eight feet, and its three stories share a combined 990 square feet. It was built in 1873 in the sliver of space between 75 and 77 Bedford Street. It has three bedrooms, and has been home to anthropologist Margaret Mead and poet Edna St Vincent Millay. Separately. And because of that and because it's New York City it's listed for sale at $2.75 million. (via Luxist)
