The longer this fire burns the hotter it gets. Joe Solmonese of HRC has written a letter excoriating the president over the Department of Justice's brief in defense of DOMA . The New York Times also took Obama to task, and not to be outdone, Rachel Maddow jumped on the bandwagon to discuss the brief and Obama's inaction on LGBT rights with Howard Dean. Mr. Dean made clear that he felt the brief was “offensive” and ponders if the president even saw it (which is strange since Obama’s administration has been defending the brief all week). “It wasn’t a little too far. It was a lot too far.” Dean said. Maddow also questioned how it is that so many prominent Republicans are now “out flanking” the Democrats on gay rights.
