And the Winter Is...!

Since a groundhog's life expectancy is six to 10 years and the groundhog known as Punxsutawney Phil has been crawling out of his hole since 1987 to predict winter's length, we have to assume that Phil is like Lassie and Heloise the household-hints lady – not the original. Anyhow, a crowd gathered this Groundhog Day at Gobbler's Knob (sounds like a pet name for a penis) in Pennsylvania to watch as Phil saw his shadow, predicting six more weeks of winter. Of course, we could've told you that without waking from hibernation and slithering out of our hole. Spring's official arrival, groundhog or no groundhog, is March 20 – or about six weeks from now.
