When I Grow Up I Want to be an Old WomanFriday, January 09, 2009 12:27 PM
When our dear friend Linda Simpson sent out word in NYC that the gallery was seeking submissions for its drag show, I was a little nervous at what might come our way. And with good reason, it seems. There are some scary pics of me still floating around. Legendary New York scene photographer Tina Paul has unearthed this 1990 image of me and the doddering, lavender-haired scribe, Quentin Crisp, at Michael Musto's birthday party. It's a gorgeous moment in time, but for the life of me, I can't tell which of us looks older. We look like a couple of Miami Beach retirees, watching our stories and playing mah-jong. Frankly, I think we BOTH look better NOW. And he's been dead ten years! Thank you, Tina.
